SC Quality Specialist - Healthcare Quality Improvement

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence seeks an individual with healthcare quality improvement experience. This position will focus on community care coordination. In this role, the quality specialist will work with hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, post-acute health care providers, and other community organizations to build engagement in an effort to reduce unnecessary hospital readmissions and improve communication among provider groups.

Internally entitled “Quality Specialists”, these positions are knowledgeable of the implementation and application of quality improvement methodologies in order to help health care providers implement improvements in quality and patient safety. The individual must have the ability to assess and solve problems, develop innovative approaches, and convene and lead groups in goal setting, intervention implementation, and evaluation.

This position is home-based.
Candidate must be located in SC and willing to travel on an as needed basis

Successful specialists meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health related field
  • Three to five years’ experience working with health care providers, coalition building, community organizing, population health, care coordination, or healthcare quality improvement

AL EQR Project Manager

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence (CCME) seeks an EQR Project Manager to be responsible for the External Quality Review services, and ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance. Duties include monitoring contract deliverables, performing review activities as required by contract; interpreting and analyzing clinical information to support determinations; and responding to inquiries regarding the review process and/or review results.

The role serves as the primary liaison for CCME with the state Medicaid agency. The successful incumbent will maintain professional working relationships with health plans, Medicaid agency contract staff and program leaders; proactively assist with the development of plans and activities to increase EQR contract opportunities; and provide maximum value to the customer.

This is a work from home position; however, candidate must have the ability to travel throughout the southeast region of the US.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, from an accredited college or university specific to the contract
  • Prefer clinical license and/or certification
  • Five (5) years of management experience and in offsite and onsite EQR activities
  • Experience in of the following:
    • Medicaid recipients, policies, data systems and processes
    • Managed care delivery systems, organizations and financing
    • Quality assessment and improvement methods
    • Development of quality improvement projects

NC Quality Specialist, External Quality Review (EQR)

CCME seeks three (3) full-time Quality Review Specialists to conduct quality activities as determined by health care quality improvement contracts. The Specialists are responsible for interpreting and analyzing provided information to support contract compliance, and maintaining professional working relationships with contract staff, program leaders and health care providers. The duties include assisting with development of methodologies and data collection tools and protocol; developing and providing educational materials and programs; assisting with identifying and developing systems and processes to enhance contract requirements; and providing technical expertise based on assessment and contract requirement.

These are virtual positions, with travel required throughout the state of North Carolina. Only candidates located in NC will be considered. Positions are contingent upon contract award.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in related field with at least 3 years of related experience
  • Registered Nurse preferred
  • Knowledge of MCO and/or PIHP delivery systems and current trends
  • Experience with Medicaid populations, programs and policies

NC Quality Improvement Specialists, FT & PT

We are seeking full time and part-time Quality Improvement (QI) Specialists to serve as coaches for hospital leadership and staff. The QI Specialists will be responsible for engaging and educating hospitals as part of a national learning collaborative to share best practices for the reduction of patient harm. Duties include assessing hospital systems and processes, conducting root cause analyses and providing resources for resolutions and other QI methodologies. These positions require a strong background in hospital quality improvement and solid knowledge of quality improvement methodologies.

These positions are home-based, with regional travel required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Social Sciences or Clinical
  • RN license preferred

NC Health Data Analyst

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence seeks a Health Data Analyst to assist with research and study design, methodology and statistical analysis in support of health care quality improvement and research activities.  This role serves as consultant to managers and directors regarding study design and consults on and leads heath care quality improvement initiatives.  Duties include determining requirements for data collection used for surveys and quality studies and analyzing results; reviewing health plans; and validating projects and performance measures.

This position requires a strong background in health data analysis. Position is contingent upon contract award.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Master’s degree in public health, statistics, epidemiology or related field with 3 – 5  years of experience; biostatistician preferred
  • Working knowledge of HEDIS technical specification highly preferred
  • Knowledge of SAS or comparable analytic software
  • Experience validating projects, surveys and performance measures
  • Familiarity with CMS protocols related to External Quality Review
  • Experience reviewing SQL code highly preferred
  • Ability to write analytic plans and conduct program evaluations
  • Ability to assess pros and cons of research methods (literature reviews)
  • Ability to implement complex analytic techniques
  • Ability to develop analytic reports, charts, and tables
  • Ability to conduct analyses with SAS or similar analytic software

This position maintains positive working relationships with external organizations and program leaders; monitors operations and contract performance, business process improvements and enhancements; and establishes business procedures for service line. The successful incumbent will maintain professional working relationships with agency contract staff and program leaders; proactively assist with the development of plans and activities to increase quality improvement contract opportunities; and provide maximum value to the customer.

This is a home-based position, with regional travel required.

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence (CCME) seeks Practice Advisors to provide direct technical assistance to program eligible clinicians/providers that is tailored to their needs and offers peer-level support to help deliver care in a patient-centric and efficient manner. Duties include, but are not limited to: analyzing program participation requirements and business/clinical implications; creating clinical practice improvement plans; providing peer learning for improvements; clinical quality and measurement reporting; continuous update/education of new quality measures; and ongoing assessments.

Advisors will be located in each of the following states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Virginia.

SC Community Health Workers, Temp/PT (several positions)

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence, a health care quality improvement organization, is seeking health care professionals with quality improvement experience. NC Freelance Proposal/Technical Writer

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence seeks a Freelance Proposal Writer, experienced with grant/proposal writing in the health care field. This position will assist with proposal development, research and writing. The proposal writer collaborates closely with Business Relations staff, subject matter experts and team members to develop and write original content for compelling health care proposals, to ensure the successful acquisition and/or retention of business. The proposal writer will work on an as needed basis, from home, in most cases.

Only local candidates  will be given consideration, as occasional meetings at our corporate headquarters in Cary are required.

The proposal writer’s duties will include, but is not limited to: reviewing Requests For Proposals (RFPs) and assisting with proposal planning; assisting in defining winning strategies; working with Business Relations team to develop content; meeting established proposal deadlines to write, review, and submit proposals; communicating proposal and status updates; ensuring proposal submission criteria for each proposal is followed; assisting with printing, assembly and binding of proposals; and ensuring consistency within proposals by following established methods and procedures and/or creating new methods and procedures.

The successful candidate's qualifications include:

  • Experience in the health care or related field, required
  • Health care grant/proposal writing preferred
  • Must have own computing equipment and access to internet
