MS External Quality Review (EQR) Project Manager

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence (CCME) seeks an EQR Project Manager to be responsible for the Mississippi Medicaid EQR service area, and ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance. Duties include monitoring contract deliverables, performing review activities as required by contract; interpreting and analyzing clinical information to support determinations; and responding to inquiries regarding the review process and/or review results. Responsibilities also include recruiting, hiring, and training qualified staff.

The role serves as the primary liaison for CCME with the MS Division of Medicaid (DOM). The successful incumbent will maintain professional working relationships with health plans, Medicaid agency contract staff and program leaders; proactively assist with the development of plans and activities to increase EQR contract opportunities; and provide maximum value to the customer. This is a work from home position; however, we prefer candidates located in the state of Mississippi. Candidate must have the ability to travel throughout the state and to NC regularly.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, from an accredited college or university specific to the contract

• Prefer clinical license and/or certification

• Five (5) years of management experience and in offsite and onsite EQR activities

• Experience in each of the following:

o Medicaid recipients, policies, data systems and processes

o Managed care delivery systems, organizations and financing

o Quality assessment and improvement methods

o Research design and methodology, including statistical analysis

• Ability to function independently and coordinate review activities

• Superior written and oral communication skills

NC Quality Improvement Specialist

We are seeking a Quality Improvement Specialist to serve as a coach for hospital leadership and staff participating in Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN). The QI Specialist will be responsible for engaging and educating hospitals as part of a national learning collaborative to share best practices for the reduction of patient harm. Duties include assessing hospital systems and processes, conducting root cause analyses and providing resources for resolutions. This position requires a strong background in hospital quality improvement and solid knowledge of quality improvement methodologies.

This is a virtual-based position with travel required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Social Sciences or Clinical
  • RN and CPHQ certification preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with program evaluation, survey design and analysis, statistical analysis and performance measurement

SC Quality Specialist

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence, a health care quality improvement organization, is seeking high performing health care professional with extensive background in healthcare quality programs, practice transformation and workflow redesign. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of Meaningful Use, Physician Quality Reporting System, Value-Based Modifier, Alternative Payment Models and Patient Centered Medical Homes along with the ability to educate and guide healthcare providers in these initiatives.  This is a virtual-based position with minimal travel required.

Successful specialists meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health related field or three to five years healthcare related experience
  • Extensive experience in PQRS, Meaningful Use, Value Modifier, PCMH, APMs
  • Possess superior communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact with health care providers

NC Freelance Proposal/Technical Writer

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence seeks a Freelance Proposal Writer, experienced with grant/proposal writing in the health care field. This position will assist with proposal development, research and writing. The proposal writer collaborates closely with Business Relations staff, subject matter experts and team members to develop and write original content for compelling health care proposals, to ensure the successful acquisition and/or retention of business. The proposal writer will work on an as needed basis, from home, in most cases.

Only local candidates  will be given consideration, as occasional meetings at our corporate headquarters in Cary are required.

The proposal writer’s duties will include, but is not limited to: reviewing Requests For Proposals (RFPs) and assisting with proposal planning; assisting in defining winning strategies; working with Business Relations team to develop content; meeting established proposal deadlines to write, review, and submit proposals; communicating proposal and status updates; ensuring proposal submission criteria for each proposal is followed; assisting with printing, assembly and binding of proposals; and ensuring consistency within proposals by following established methods and procedures and/or creating new methods and procedures.

The successful candidate's qualifications include:

  • Experience in the health care or related field, required
  • Health care grant/proposal writing preferred
  • Must have own computing equipment and access to internet
  • MS Office experience required

SC Community Health Workers, Temp/PT (several positions)

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence, a health care quality improvement organization, is seeking health care professionals with quality improvement experience. Internally entitled “Care Improvement Specialists”, these positions are Certified Community Health Workers (CHW), Certified Diabetic Educators (CDE), Certified Faith Community Nurses, and other health care and community advocates who will assist with coordinating and teaching Diabetic Self-Management Education. Our specialists are knowledgeable of the implementation and application of quality improvement methodologies in order to help health care providers implement improvements in quality and patient safety. They have the ability to assess and solve problems, develop innovative approaches, and convene and lead groups in planning and goal setting.  These positions are home-based, temporary, PRNs.

Successful candidates meet the following qualifications:

  • Community Health Worker or Certified Faith Community Nurse preferred
  • Must have interest in improving the health and welfare of Medicare diabetic beneficiaries in SC
  • Must attend company provided four day Stanford Lay Leader Training
  • Possess superior communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact with health care providers and coworkers
  • Must have home office that can be locked

NC/SC PASRR Clinical Consultant

PASRR Clinical Consultant, part-time

CCME seeks a part time PASRR Clinical Consultant to provide clinical expertise and to participate in a collaborative endeavor to launch a new PASRR review program. The successful candidate will possess superb written and verbal communication skills and will serve as a knowledge resource and subject matter expert.  Responsibilities include: contributing to proposal development; documenting policies and procedures for related activities; and assisting with process implementation. This position may develop into a full time opportunity.

Our corporate office is located in Cary, NC; occasional travel to the office is required.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s required, Master’s degree in health related field as required by licensures
  • Current unrestricted license as RN LMFT, LMSW, LCSW, CMHT, LCMHT or LPC
  • RN with behavioral health experience
  • Experience in PASRR Level II review
  • Any related license or certification, a plus
  • Experience in NC and/or SC preferred
  • Ability to communicate and partner with various levels of management (team members, customers, stakeholders ) to achieve results
  • Familiarity with trends in healthcare industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including: Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
