SC Contract Manager, VBP & QI

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence, a health care quality improvement organization, is seeking a high performing manager with health care quality improvement experience.  Internally titled “Contract Manager”, this position will focus on Value Based Purchasing (VBP) and quality improvement. The manager is responsible for overseeing quality improvement and immunization, to include assisting health care providers with the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) and Meaningful Use (MU). The candidate must have the ability to assess and solve problems, develop innovative approaches, and convene and lead groups in planning and goal setting.  This position is home-based.

The successful manager meets the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health care related field preferred
  • Knowledgeable of Electronic Medical Records related to PQRS and MU
  • 5 years of health care quality improvement experience
  • Familiarity with Value Based Purchasing, Cardiac and Diabetes. This position will coordinate learning and action activities for participants
  • Strong background in working with providers and quality reporting
  • Possess superior communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact with health care providers and coworkers
  • Must have home office that can be locked

SC Certified Diabetic Educators, Temp/PT (several positions)

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence, a health care quality improvement organization, is seeking health care professionals with quality improvement experience. Internally entitled “Care Improvement Specialists”, these positions are RN/LPN/Allied health professionals who are certified diabetic educators (CDEs), and will assist with coordinating and teaching Diabetic Self-Management Education. Our specialists are knowledgeable of the implementation and application of quality improvement methodologies in order to help health care providers implement improvements in quality and patient safety. They have the ability to assess and solve problems, develop innovative approaches, and convene and lead groups in planning and goal setting.  These positions are home-based, temporary, PRNs.

Successful CDEs meets the following qualifications:

  • RN, LPN or Allied health professional
  • 5 years of health care quality improvement experience
  • Possess superior communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact with health care providers and coworkers
  • Must have home office that can be locked

TN External Quality Review (EQR) Health Data Analyst

Nashville, TN

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence seeks EQR Health Data Analyst to assist with research and study design, methodology and statistical analysis in support of health care quality improvement and research activities.  This role serves as consultant to managers and directors regarding study design and consults on and leads heath care quality improvement initiatives; Duties include determining requirements for data collection used for surveys and quality studies. The position is contingent upon contract award.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Advanced degree in public health, statistics, epidemiology or related field with 3 – 5  years of experience biostatistician preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of SAS or comparable analytic software
  • Ability to select and apply statistical and analytic approaches
  • Ability to assist with determining study designs and evaluation plans
  • Ability assist in development of provider and stakeholder education materials
  • Ability to conduct analyses with SAS or similar analytic software
  • Working knowledge of HEDIS technical specification
  • Working knowledge with ICD, CPT and revenue codes
  • Understanding of Six Sigma methodology

TN External Quality Review (EQR) Project Manager

Nashville, TN

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence (CCME) seeks an EQR Project Manager to be responsible for day to day operations of Medicaid managed care review services in the state of Tennessee. The role serves as the primary liaison for CCME with TennCare & CoveredKdis. The position provides oversight of review staff, focused on care studies, quality review and evaluation of quality strategies. The successful incumbent will maintain professional working relationships with health plans, Medicaid agency contract staff and program leaders; proactively assist with the development of plans and activities to increase EQR contract opportunities; and provide maximum value to the customer. Travel required. The position is contingent upon contract award.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Graduate of accredited college or university
  • Experience with Medicaid recipients, policies, data systems and processes
  • Five years of experience in managed care behavioral health accreditation process, and  quality improvement
  • Experience in/with  HMO or MCO delivery systems and financing
  • Knowledge of research design and methodology including statistical analysis
  • Ability to function independently and coordinate review activities
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Minimum of three years direct supervisory experience

TN External Quality Review (EQR) Specialist

Nasville, TN

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence seeks EQR Specialists to conduct annual and readiness external quality review activities.  The positions conduct review activities for managed care plans, including CoveredKids program, prepaid inpatient health plans and medical homes networks in accordance with State Medicaid policies, federal regulations and CMS protocols.  The successful incumbents will maintain professional working relationships with health plans, Medicaid agency contract staff and program leaders; proactively assist with the development of plans and activities to increase EQR contract opportunities; and provide maximum value to the customer. Travel required.  These positions are contingent upon contract award.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Degree from an accredited college or university in related field with at least 3 years of related experience
  • RN with active TN nursing license preferred
  • Experience in quality assessment and improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge of CoveredKids managed care program
  • Knowledge of MCO and/or PIHP delivery systems and financing
  • Experience with Medicaid populations, programs and policies
  • Experience with Medicaid managed care compliance
  • Excellent communication skills including public speaking and writing
  • Background in behavioral or mental health preferred
  • Knowledge of URAC or NCQA accreditation standards and/or HEDIS certification a plus

NC Documentation Reviewers, Work from Home

The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence seeks documentation reviewers to identify, sort and label information submitted by medical providers subject to prepay claims review by the North Carolina Medicaid Program. Duties include analyzing submitted documentation and conducting a comparison of billing dates of services to determine if all required elements were submitted for each date of service. The positions are work from home, on an as needed basis. NC residents only.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Certification, Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a health care related field or Business Administration preferred
  • Three or more years’ experience in health care related settings
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Documented experience in working with medical records-related activities in a health-related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of the web-based systems (internal and external)
  • Basic understanding of data management
