How do I become a member?
There are several ways to become a member and indicate your support for improving the quality of care for all Carolinians. Simply download the membership form and complete the information. Then either fax to 919-461-5700, attention Charmaine Edwards, or email  the form to cedwards@thecarolinascenter.org.

Why should I become a member of CCME?
By joining CCME, you demonstrate your support of efforts to improve the quality of health care for all Carolinians. Your membership shows that you are interested in learning more about health care quality and how those lessons can be applied in your practice. Joining means that you want to have input on improving the quality of patient care in the Carolinas.

What are the benefits of membership?
Members of CCME get the most valuable tool available to help improve the quality of care for their patients—information! Members receive the most up-to-date information available on health care quality in a format that is concise, convenient, and understandable to all physicians. CCME focuses on how the information might affect the physician in his or her practice. Currently, the primary format to reach members is Quality Partners, a bimonthly newsletter focusing on quality of care issues. In addition, a directory of cooperative quality improvement projects is available to members. The CCME web page will carry membership-focused information, such as news on quality developments, links to other quality-related web pages, full text editions of cooperative projects reports, a members’ forum, and more. Members also have an opportunity to become CCME Physician Consultants, who provide expert medical advice and oversight to CCME’s quality improvement and review staff.

What does membership cost?
There are no costs associated with CCME membership. All we ask is that you take advantage of the resources that we offer to you. The time commitment is up to you. CCME will make available to our members as much information about quality improvement in health care as possible. How much you utilize depends on you. CCME wants to be the source of information for physicians on quality improvement in health care in the Carolinas. CCME wants to be the place to which physicians turn when they have questions about quality health care.

Why does CCME want members?
CCME is an independent, non-profit physician membership organization working to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of health care in the Carolinas. The number of CCME members illustrates the strength of acceptance of this mission in the medical community. In addition, CCME membership serves as the source for CCME leadership and committee appointments, so the strength of the membership has a direct relationship to the strength of the organization in the future.
