NC & SC - Manager, Medical Review Systems and Staff

Responsible for identifying skills and knowledge needed for medical review staff to support current operations and develop new systems and services. Responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting and administrative management of assigned staff.
  • Systematically identifying and tracking skills and knowledge required to support review activities.
  • Determining staff training and education needs and developing opportunities to meet those needs.
  • Managing and coordinating the participation of assigned staff on departmental and corporate teams.
  • Improving the efficiency and effectiveness of review systems and services.
  • Assisting with development of new review and related systems and services.

Applicants should have the following qualifications:

  • Health related degree, with nursing preferred.
  • Knowledge of utilization review methods and processes.
  • Quality improvement knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • At least 5 years of experience with 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without restrictions (no temporary visas)

NC – RNs for In-Home Recipient Assessments
Eastern North Carolina

RNs to conduct in-home recipient assessments for the NC Medicaid Independent Assessment Program and participate in any service appeals.

  • Must have home care experience
  • Must have PCS experience
  • Current North Carolina RN licensure without restrictions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to travel regionally

NC – RNs for PCS Prepayment Review (Temporary Part Time)

RNs to perform prepayment reviews for Medicaid Personal Care Services. Positions will be home-based.

  • Must have 2 years of PCS or related experience.
  • Detail oriented with strong clinical assessment skills and strong comprehension of medical necessity and clinically appropriate care.
  • Able to consistently communicate clearly and professionally with providers and government entities.

NC – Research Program Manager

Manager and coordinate CCME research activities; recruit appropriate staff to complete research studies; monitor research budgets to assure projects are conducted within the budget; identify new potential research opportunities; understand internal databases and research questions that can be addressed with them; participate in the development and conduct of research projects; and serve as liaison to Research Advisory Committee.

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

  • Advanced degree with at least 9 graduate hours of research methods coursework
  • Minimum of five years experience in conducting research
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to make public presentation
  • Working knowledge of the health care delivery system

SC – Care Improvement Specialist

Individual with a health care background who can assess and solve problems, work with teams and build consensus, develop innovative approaches, and teach them to other people. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse with some EHR experience and clinic or physician office management experience.

  • Health related degree and health care experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with health care quality improvement

NC – HIV Program Consultants

Consultants to conduct reviews of Medicaid HIV Case Management providers for the purposes of certification, recertification and de-certification. Responsibilities will also include provider agency monitoring and evaluation, as well as site visits and provider training/support.

Applicants should have at least one year of experience with HIV-related needs and meet one of the following set of requirements:

  • Master’s degree in a human services field including social work, sociology, child development, maternal and child health, counseling, psychology, or nursing.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field or related curriculum with at least 15 semester hours in courses related to social work, counseling, or public health; and six months of social work or counseling experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree with one year of experience in counseling or a related human services field that provides experience in techniques of counseling, casework, group work, social work, public health, or human services.
  • Current licensure as Registered Nurse or Certified Substance Abuse Counselor with two years experience working in human services.
