Our work at CCME involves leadership and services in three important areas:  community health care coordination, care management support, and physician leadership and education.

CCME offers physician offices a variety of quality improvement services. Much of our work with physicians' offices is based on the QIO contract. We have partnered with CMS to provide an electronic health record (EHR)-based care management program called EHR Preventive Care Program to participating North and South Carolina primary care physician practices. The purpose of the program is to improve patient care by fully utilizing care management functionality within the EHR. CCME places great importance on physician leadership and education.  There is a need to develop data-driven physician leaders who are comfortable with a rapidly evolving data environment to inform clinical decision making and establish policy.  A major objective of CCME’s Physician Leadership Institute – a physician leadership program that is conducted in association with the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – is to provide physician leaders with a broad range of core leadership competencies and the tools necessary to succeed in today’s complex health care system.

CCME is a physician-sponsored organization with a membership of more than 3,000 actively practicing physicians. Assuring the quality of care in North and South Carolina by physicians is one of the primary roles for all Carolina physicians.
