CCME Launches CAP Assure Website

Cary, NC — On June 1, The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence (CCME) launched the new CAP Assure website, created for case managers and providers participating in the Community Alternatives Program for Medically Fragile Children (CAP/C) in North Carolina.

CAP Assure Website - www.thecarolinascenter.org/CAPAssureThe new website provides a secure system to showcase a wide range of tools and resources, and easy-to-use functionality. Once registered on the new site, users will have the ability to review the status of their claims, assess respite hours, and confirm service authorization, which will ultimately result in faster payment.

CCME is working with the North Carolina Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) to improve the efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of CAP/C in North Carolina. CAP/C provides home care services to medically-fragile children through age 20. The aim of the program is to allow recipients who would otherwise require institutional care to receive services in a home or community setting.

Under contract with DMA, CCME is responsible for conducting provider claims and compliance reviews for CAP/C services, and working to implement systems and processes to help streamline the case management process. Sherry Talbott, CAP/C claims review team lead at CCME, said the new CAP Assure website addresses this need.

“CAP Assure will prove to be an accommodating resource for CAP/C case managers and providers,” she said. “Our goal is not only to streamline the case management process, but to increase the value of our services by better engaging our users with more interactive tools and information. It is our hope that this new website will further our position as a leader in health care quality improvement.”

Beginning July 1, 2012, case managers and providers will benefit from additional services and functionality on the CAP Assure website including downloadable claim review summaries, detailed missing information letters, and summaries of respite hours used monthly.
